Feb 18—Charlene Chumley from the Nacogdoches Quilters Guild. She will present a program on HOW TO MAKE A BARN QUILT. She will give instructions on how to plan and paint an outdoor barn quilt with a slide show of some the many barn quilts she has painted. She will also tell how the Nacogdoches Guild started a barn quilt trail in their county.
CHALLENGE QUILT CONTEST—members will judge the 16 challenge quilts presented and vote on the top three. Prizes will be awarded.
March 18—Kathy Rouse and Ann Buettner. MAKING YOUR OWN DESIGN BOARDS. Kathy and Ann will demonstrate 2-3 ways to make different design boards to use in your quilting.
April 15—Trash to Treasures Sale.
May 20— Vickie Poe. MY OLDEST QUILT. Members can register to bring their oldest quilt—either one they made, or one made by a grandmother or aunt or someone else—to show the group, along with a little discussion of the quilt’s provenance, if known. Limit of one quilt per person.
June 17—Dorene Joyce, Dorenejoyce.com JOY IN THE JOURNEY—GET YOUR CREATIVE HAT ON! This program will center around learning and growing as a quilter and will encourage quilters to let go of their fears and try a little creativity.
After the meeting, there will also be a FLORAL STAINED GLASS WORKSHOP—featuring Dorene’s method for making an Art Quilt that looks like stained glass. Participation in the workshop is optional and there will be a workshop fee of $45, which includes a $20 pattern and art supplies.
July 22— 4 DIVAS DEMONSTRATIONS and WORKSHOP. The names of our 4 Divas will be announced later this spring.
August 19—Carol Morrissey, www.ocaroldesigns.com EXAGGERATED POINTILLISM: MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH CIRCULAR SHAPES. In this presentation, Carol explains how she became interested in using circular shapes and how she uses them to create images that are both pictorial and abstract.
After the meeting, there will also be a HIPPY DIPPY DOTTY COLLAGE—a fun, fused project! Carol will bring her die cutters and a variety of circle dies to use in making a class project of a hippy dotty collage wall hanging. Participation in the workshop is optional and is limited to no more than 20 students. There will be a workshop fee of $45 and includes a free pattern for a mini journal cover that can be made from a small fabric collage.

October 14 – ANNUAL QUILT BAZAAR, at Heartisans Marketplace, 3501 Gilmer Rd., Longview, TX, from 10-4.
